Minouk Lim: From My Work Place

Minouk Lim’s practice centers on the power of objects to probe the less visible or forgotten aspects of history and collective memory. Much of her work in video, installation, and performance focuses on the impact of South Korea’s rapid democratization and industrialization on society and on her own sense of place.

Shot in Lim’s studio in Gyeonggi Province, north of Seoul, this video provides a glimpse of a new sculptural installation in progress. She discusses her current work in light of the pandemic and views the ongoing crisis as a “time to change and innovate, not to adapt.”
