Old Battersea Bridge, London

Black and white aerial photo of Battersea Bridge.

Old Battersea Bridge was built in the late eighteenth century. Made of timber, it was destroyed in the mid-1880’s and an iron bridge was constructed in its place. Depicted by numerous artists, including Whistler and J.M.W. Turner, the bridge served as an iconic landmark of the Chelsea neighborhood.
