Description

Get an exclusive curator's tour of the newly opened, extraordinary exhibition An Epic of Kings: The Great Mongol Shahnama. Each month, you'll have the chance to view this once-in-a-lifetime exhibition with expert perspectives from Simon Rettig, the museum's associate curator for the arts of the Islamic world.

An Epic of Kings presents a monumental illustrated copy of Iran’s national epic, the Shahnama. Learn how the medieval Mongol rulers used this manuscript to cement their place in Iran’s history, and encounter twenty-five folios alongside contemporaneous works from China to the Latin West.

Please meet at gallery 23 for these tours. View our schedule to see more detailed information.
