Live DJ Accompaniment by DJ 2-Tone of Shaolin Jazz!
As part of Shaolin Jazz’s popular Can I Kick It? events, DJ 2-Tone accompanies the wildest entry in the Bruceploitation genre. In this film, the spirit of Bruce Lee (played by Bruce Leung Siu-lung) finds himself in the underworld, where he must do battle with a host of ersatz pop culture characters, including Dracula, the Godfather, the Exorcist, spaghetti western–era Clint Eastwood, and a smattering of zombies and mummies. But lucky for him, Bruce has the One-Armed Swordsman, Caine from Kung Fu, and Popeye the Sailor Man on his side! Throw in hilariously terrible English language dubbing and gratuitous nudity, and you get an off-the-walls romp that succeeds in being spectacularly bad. Intended for mature audiences.
(Dir. Law Kei, Hong Kong, 1977, 90 min., DCP)
