Amit Dutta’s second film in the program, according to the filmmaker, “attempts to sample and mirror the grand tapestry of Indian textile tradition and history by interweaving snippets of Indian cloth on an editing table, using the poetic metres of classical Indian literature and sewn together with the words and motifs of the medieval weaver-saint Kabir.” Dutta’s rich, densely woven sound design complements his multilayered animations of beautiful textiles and Kabir’s evocative poetry.
