    Detached folio from a dispersed copy of a Rawzat al-safa fi sirat al-anbiya' wa'l-muluk wa'l-khulafa (Garden of purity on the lives of the prophets, kings, and caliphs) by Muhammad b. Khwandshah (known as Mirkhwand); text: Persian in black nasta'liq script; recto: colophon; verso: right-hand half of a double page composition detached from the facing folio (S1986.89.2); heading in white: third volume (al-jild al-thalath), text: fifteen lines; one of a group of twenty-one folios.

    This discourse is completed with the aid of God, king of the rulers, the powerful, and the munificent. By the goodness and properness and kindness of his divine grace, the least of God's creatures finished writing it, Ibn Mahmud Inayatullah the scribe of Shiraz. May God forgive his sins and disregard his faults in the year [A.H.] 979 [A.D. 1571-72].
