Detached folio from a Qur'an; recto: obliterated inscription; verso: right-hand half of a double-page illumination; facing folio (S 1986.74.2); opening with the first part of Sura al- isra (the night journey) 17: verse 88 in central shamsa; parts of Sura al-waqi'a (the inevitable) 56: 77-80 in upper and lower sarlawhs; Arabic in white thuluth script; one of a group of 22 folios. -
