Detached album folio: Composite page of calligraphy; text: Persian in black nasta'liq script; five calligraphic panels of poetry: three couplets signed by Sultan Mahmud al-Katib and dated A.H. 964 [A.D. 1557] in the upper right-hand corner; two couplets signed by Sultan Ali in Herat and dated A.H. 940 [A.D. 1533] in lower right-hand corner; two couplets signed by Sultan Muhammad al-Katib in the lower left-hand corner and three couplets in the upper left-hand corner; column dividers with floral motifs; corners embellished with triangular illuminated panels.Border: The text panels are set in green, gold, red and blue rulings mounted on marbled gold-sprinkled paperboard. -
