Object Details

  • Description

    Hollow tomb tile, perhaps a socle. Both sides the same. Broken areas along edges.
    Clay: slate-gray earthenware; fine texture.
    Glaze: none
    Decoration: impressed with dies or stamps in low flat relief; two profile kneeling armed guardian figures flanking stylized tree over narrow horizontal panels - (1) two birds facing central seated figure (2) horse and carriage followed by horseman.
