Description

Get an exclusive curator's tour of the newly opened exhibition An Epic of Kings: The Great Mongol Shahnama. Each month, you'll have the chance to view this once-in-a-lifetime exhibition with expert perspectives from Simon Rettig, the museum's associate curator for the arts of the Islamic world.

An Epic of Kings presents a monumental illustrated copy of Iran’s national epic, the Shahnama. Learn how this fourteenth-century manuscript functioned as propaganda for the Mongol rulers of Iran, and discover twenty-five folios alongside contemporaneous works from China and the Latin West.
