    Yamamoto Shoun 山本昇雲 (1870-1965)
  • Publisher

    Daikokuya
  • Description

Vol. XII of XII (Vol. X now missing) from a set of print sample albums. Daikokuya, Tokyo publisher. Paper label affixed to front cover of each, inscribed in ink: "Squares". Each volume with (originally) 20 prints by various artists (some prints now removed or missing).
The album is numbered on the cover with a rubberstamp as to its place in the series. However, the prints are numbered consecutively through the whole set of albums: 1 through 240. This is done with a rubberstamp on the album page above each print.
In this set, Volume XII, what would have been print #230 was removed by Robert Muller and added to his "collection" -- see S2003.8.3363.
