Description
Vessel in the form of a quadruped, perhaps a doe. The barrel-like form indicates the animal's body. The well-modeled head of the animal, with large upright ears, tops a long neck drawn out from one end of the vessel. A cylindrical spout terminating in a flared mouth with plain rim rises from the top center of the vessel. A short tail projects from the rear. At the lower front of the vessel is a round hole for releasing liquid from the vessel. The vessel sits slightly unevenly. Orange clay, with surfaces scraped but not burnished. -
