As of September 2019, no corresponding stock card has been located in the C. T. Loo/Frank Caro Archive at the Musée Guimet.Frank Caro, C. T. Loo’s associate acquired C. T. Loo’s remaining stock after C. T. Loo liquidated C. T. Loo and Co., New York, and closed C. T. Loo, INC, New York. Frank Caro took control on September 1, 1952, and operated as C. T. Loo Chinese Art and in 1962, began operating as Frank Caro Chinese Art. Objects that Frank Caro acquired after Loo left the daily operations in New York were often inventoried with an “FC” prefix.[2] See invoice cited in note 1.[3] Pursuant to the agreement between Arthur M. Sackler and the Smithsonian Institution, dated July 28, 1982, legal title of the donated objects was transferred to the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery on September 11, 1987. -
