• Description

  Wine bottle on small foot ring, bulbous shoulder, small short neck --repaired, everted lip rim. Decorated with bosanghwa (baoxianghua) flowers and scrolling foliage painted in brownish-black glaze under olive-green glaze.

• Label

  The motif on this wine bottle is identified as the imaginary flower called bosanghwa. The brownish tone of the green glaze is characteristic of vessels with painted iron decoration and suggests that such vessels belong to a different lineage of production from green-glazed or inlay-decorated wares.
