• Description

  Vase with classic meiping shape consisting of narrow mouth, exerted lip and short, straight neck tapering into square shoulders, gently sloping body and flat foot trimmed to form footring.

  Clay: Porcelain, footrim darkened on surface by use.

  Glaze: Yellow lead fluxed glaze applied to lip, rim, body and foot. Red glaze to a portion of the lip and rim. Glaze is slightly crackled throughout, most notably base of the neck and the top of the shoulders. Interior is unglazed. Unglazed footrim.

  Decoration: The only deviation from the monochrome bright yellow color of this vase is the tinge of red on a portion of the lip and rim. The red appears orange under the yellow.
