Description
Cup stand with raised ring in center and everted foliate rim forming eight brackets.Clay: porcelain.Glaze: transparent. Base unglazed, burnt brownish orange.Decoration: Painted in underglaze cobalt, a peony spray in center: minute designs of concentric brackets on the raised central ring; a chrysanthemum band; eight floral sprays conforming to the molded segments of the cavetto (four lotus blossoms diametrically placed, alternating with two pairs of other flowers); a classic scroll on the rim; thunder pattern on the rim edge. Lotus-petal panels frame the base. -
