Dish with molded decoration, Qing-bai-related ware

Object Details

• Description

  Small dish. Broad bottom, slightly concave; minimal footrim; everted straight sides, blunt-cut rim. Hairline crack at rim. Wheel-thrown and formed over drape mold.

  Clay: porcelain, partially translucent; orange-toned where exposed on unglazed rim.

  Glaze: translucent, cream-toned; uncrackled; quite abraded.

  Decoration: In the bottom, floral spray; on sides, band of cloud-shaped motifs bordered by narrow key-fret band.
