  Fernand Edmond Jeuniette (1854-1918) was involved with the stock market

  in Paris, France and was an art collector. Jeuniette’s collection of roughly 516 objects included European, Islamic, Near Eastern, and Central Asian earthenware, miniature paintings, manuscripts, sculptures, and textiles. From Saumur, France, Jeuniette attended the municipal college in Saumur and moved to Paris at the age of fifteen. In Paris, Jeuniette began acquiring objects from Parisian antique stores, open-air markets along the Seine, and during his travels. Jeuniette traveled twice to Istanbul , Turkey and further on to Merv, Turkmenistan and Samarkand and Bokkara, Uzbekistan. At the urging of Gaston Migeon (1861-1930), a Louvre Museum curator, Jeuniette spent a few weeks in the winter of 1912 in Egypt and Khartoum in Sudan. At the end of a trip from Spain, he also visited Tangier in Morocco. Jeuniette displayed his collection in his Parisian residences in Marmont (ca. 1896), at 51 rue de Paradis Poissonnière (?-1905), and 26 rue Chaptal (1906-at least 1912). Jeuniette fell ill in 1917 and dispossessed his collection to his brother, Jules Marie Jeuniette (1850-1925). Jules Marie sold works from the collection at public auction in Paris in 1919. Works from Jeuniette’s collection may now be found at the Louvre Museum, the Museu Calouste Gulbenkian, and the Bodleian Library.

  Jules Marie Jeuniette (1850-1925) was a farmer in Saumur, France and the brother of the art collector, Fernand Edmond Jeuniette (1854-1918) of Paris, France.

  Adrienne Minassian was a dealer in New York, NY specializing in Islamic and Near Eastern art. She was the daughter of the dealer Kirkor Minassian (1874-1944), who had galleries in New York, NY and France. Adrienne Minassian took over her father’s business in 1945.
