Object Details

  • Description

    Dish with flaring foliate rim. Blue-and-white.
    Clay: white porcelain.
    Glaze: plain, transparent; none on base.
    Decoration: in underglaze blue; floral scroll border and flower sprays in twelve moulded sections of the cavetto, three bunches of grapes on vine in center; outside are twelve flower sprays. These flowers are:the cavetto is decorated with six "fungus of immortality" (lingzhi) sprays alternating with chrysanthemum, camellia, gardenia, hibiscus, lotus, and peony. The exterior has similar flowers.
