The object was transferred from Arthur Garabed Kevorkian to the Freer Gallery of Art for acquisition consideration on May 18, 1936. Object is described as one of “12 miniature paintings” deposited.Arthur Garabed Kevorkian (known as A. Garabed) (born ca. 1891) was an Armenian art dealer active in London between the early 1920s and the 1960s. According to his business’ letterhead, Garabed delt in Egyptian, Greek, Spanish, Italian, and Chinese, and was a specialist in Persian antiques. He successfully placed object in the collections of the British Museum, the British Library, the Victoria and Albert Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Walters Art Museum.[2] See object file for copy of the “A.
