Object Details

  • Description

    Tea-bowl: Temmoku shape. Slightly concave, straight sided foot. Copper rim loose.
    Clay: Stoneware apparently light gray beneath medium gray surface.
    Glaze: Black, slightly streaked with brown, stopping irregularly short of foot. A thin, brown layer appears at this edge, running a little further down. Copper rim.
  • Inscriptions

    Faint traces of a red lacquer cipher written on the base of the bowl.
