  • Description

    Mesopotamian, Raqqa.
    Bowl, widely flaring, on a bold recessed basal ring. Broken, repaired and restored with foreign additions.
    Soft, grayish-white clay. Pale greenish-white glaze, crackled; large, areas partially decomposed and iridescent. Painted in brown lustre and blue over glaze. The original color of the bowl is greenish jade and it is decorated with geometric designs in brown and blue. There are three labels on the bottom of the base and each one says "Near Eastern Pottery No. 84", "SI 1555", and "2222" respectively.
