• Description

  Mesopotamian, 12th-13th century

  Raqqa

  Dish: a deep bowl with stem-shaped base and flaring foot; plaster repairs.

  Clay: soft, gray.

  Glaze: very pale green, discolored and largely disintegrated.

  Decoration: painted in brown lustre over glaze.

All of these three pieces were purchased by me in Aleppo during trip 1909-1910,--they were brought to Aleppo by the same caravan and unpacked and repaired during my visit."
