Bowl with incised lotus decoration

Object Details

• Description

  Bowl, deep ovoidal; bold foot; four large sandy spur marks; fire crack running partly around base; S-crack in base.

  Clay: hard, musical.

  Glaze: lustrous grayish-green blending with grayish-brown; crackled irregularly in discolored area only.

  Decoration: incised in paste, under glaze: overlapping lotus petals, broadly and irregularly cut.
