Manuscript; An'am: selection of suras from the Qur'an; suras: 1, 6, 36, 44, 46, 48, 55, 56, 62, 67, 75, 78, 89, 93, 94-96, 98-104, followed by prayers and pious tracts; text: Arabic in black, gold and red naskh script; vocalized in black; 145 folios with a double-page frontispiece (fols. 1 verso, 2 recto); standard page: one column, 11 lines.Binding: The manuscript is bound in brown leather over paper pasteboards with red and gold tooling on the exterior covers and doublures of paper. -

This was one of a lot of ten previously undescribed books, from the Freer house library, which were put under No. 6013 on the Reserved Book List (see Curatorial Remark 1, G.D.G., 1935, in the object record, as well as F1906.302, Curatorial Remark 1, G.D.G., 1935, in the object record).[2] The original deed of Charles Lang Freer's gift was signed in 1906. The collection was received in 1920 upon the completion of the Freer Gallery. -
