Description
Tea caddy (chaire). Gourd shape. Ivory cover.Clay: dense, light gray, darkened on surface.Glaze: rich, mingled black, brown, gray-white, gray-green, over thin brown wash. Opaque white glaze applied over black glaze on neck and shoulder. Lower two-thirds of interior unglazed.Weight by Matsumura Makiko: 159.25 grams. -
