Object Details

  • Description

    Vase, tall, pear-shaped, on pedestal foot; two monster head loop handles. Lip partly restored. Imitation of bronze vase shape.
    Clay: dense, gray-white.
    Glaze: brilliant lustre glaze, predominantly green, of high metallic iridescence, over red-brown wash.Copper-tinted lead glaze.
    Decoration: ornamental bands molded in thread relief glaze: naturalistic cranes in band around neck, by handles; diamond-shaped diaper-pattern band filled with dots, around base.
