• Description

  Slumped in firing. Three large broken round stoneware supports on base. Lacquer repairs.

  Clay: gray porcelanous stoneware burned brown where exposed on foot and base.

  Glaze: clear, feldspathic, spotty coverage foot and base.

  Decoration: "rope-curtain" design in inlaid slip.

  Spurs: three clay spurs on footrim.

• Label

  Gold lacquer repairs enabled proud owners to make usable and even attractive utensils out of damaged pots recovered from kiln sites or vessels distorted by overfiring.

During the summer, the company also maintained seasonal locations in Newport, Bar Harbor, and Atlantic City.
