• Description

  Deep flaring ovoidal; low basal ring; four spur-marks under foot and four scars on interior. Rim restored.

  Clay: dense, hard, brown.

  Glaze: cream-color slip brushed over body; close brown crackle; clear glaze marked by pittings and collapsed bubbles. Glaze covers entire body and interior of foot.

Yamanaka & Company maintained branch offices, at various times, in Boston, Chicago, London, Peking, Shanghai, Osaka, Nara, and Kyoto. During the summer, the company also maintained seasonal locations in Newport, Bar Harbor, and Atlantic City.
