This coming-of-age drama won the Best Film and FIPRESCRI awards at the 2006 Istanbul Film Festival and was scored by the acclaimed Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. In a remote mountain village in northwestern Turkey, three preadolescent friends explore the spectacular landscape around them. Along the way, they learn sometimes painful lessons about generational trauma, forbidden desire, and their dawning sexuality. Times and Winds is a "hypnotic portrait of village life that packs a poetic-spiritual punch way beyond its placid surface” (Derek Elley, Variety).

(Dir.: Reha Erdem, Turkey, 2006, 111 min., DCP, Turkish with English subtitles)
