In partnership with the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, we welcome artisan in residence Sarah Al Hosani. Sarah is from the UAE and specializes in pottery-making and design. She is the owner and founder of Khazaf for Fine Arts, a ceramic and art workshop and production studio.
Embark on an artistic journey with Sarah Al Hosani, a skilled ceramist from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. During her residency, participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of pottery through a thoughtfully curated series of events.
The program kicks off with a captivating introduction and demonstration during which Sarah will showcase her pottery techniques and share the inspirations behind her creative process. This engaging session opens a window into the intricate and fascinating world of ceramics.

About Sarah Al Hosani
Sarah Al Hosani is an Emirati ceramist and entrepreneur from Abu Dhabi. She started practicing pottery in 2015, and in 2021 she launched her own studio, Khazaf for Fine Arts. At her studio, people can dive into the world of pottery, learning both wheel throwing and hand-building techniques along with the art of glazing. Beyond pottery, Sarah's studio has become a vibrant community hub, fostering artistic connections and knowledge exchange among aspiring and seasoned artists alike.
