Young virtuosos and veteran artists from the venerable Marlboro Music Festival return for their twenty-eighth season as part of the National Museum of Asian Art’s concert series to perform music by Joseph Haydn, George Benjamin, George Walker, and Felix Mendelssohn. The Washington Post calls the annual Marlboro concerts “among the most invigorating events of the classical season. Dozens of astoundingly gifted young virtuosos [give] . . . performances that radiate vitality and freshness.”
The program features Haydn’s Quartet in G Major, Op. 77, No. 1; Benjamin’s Viola Viola; Walker’s Lyric for Strings; and Mendelssohn’s Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 44, No. 3.
Artists include violinists Maria Ioudenitch and Claire Bourg; violaists Beth Guterman Chu and Hayang Park; and cellist Christoph Richter.
