In this delightfully nutty indie sci-fi gem, sphere-shaped UFOs have been hovering over the Earth since 1993. The film follows a sprawling cast of eccentric characters (some of whom may be aliens), including a singing, dancing, cult-like group of UFO worshippers, in stories that range across genres from comedy to mockumentary to romance, with a few musical numbers (including one performed on an Excel spreadsheet) thrown in for good measure. A surprise ending reveals the film to be a truly global endeavor, and the whole film gives of the playful vibe of a joyful collective effort. (Jude Chun, Korea, 2023, 80 min., DCP, Korean, Turkish, German, Polish, Khmer, Mandarin, French and Yoruba with English subtitles)
