  • Biographical / Historical

Jo. Henry Buchi (1892-1963) was a Swiss-British economist and journalist. Influenced by the ideas of Silvio Gesell, Buchi published Free Money in 1933. Later he worked as the London correspondent for the Hindustan Times.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948), frequently referred to by the honorific Mahatma, led a campaign of non-violent resistance to British colonial rule in India that helped achieve national independence in 1947. His ideology, actions, and the success of the movement resulted in a legacy as a father of the Indian nation and a widely-admired figure throughout the world.
