Dr. Thomas Lawton was the fifth director (1977-1987) of the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery.
Sculpted by Dora Fugh Lee (1929-). Lee studied painting with Yan Shaoxiang in her early years in Beijing. Later she was sole student ("Ke-tou" student) of Pu Ru with whom she had daily lessons when he lived in Tokyo in 1955/56. She also studied sculpture with Pietro Lazzari in the 1970s. She exhibited for many years at Franz Bader Gallery, Washington, DC.
