Detached folio from a dispersed manuscript; Nawab Ja'far Khan from the Impey Album; inscription in Persian nasta'liq script on the top of the folio reads: portrait of Nawab Ja'far Khan; seal on the back.
Border: The painting is set in gold, black and white rulings with a dark blue floral scroll border surrounded by a narrow gold band, mounted on a gold-sprinkled paperboard.
On the top, "portrait of Nawab Ja'far Khan."
