- Description
-
Small jar. Low, full-bodied wheel-thrown form. Thin, slightly raised rim. Closely spaced horizontal throwing marks visible on exterior and interior. Flat bottom.
Clay: fine-grained stoneware, light gray on surface.
Glaze: residue of wood-ash glaze which once covered upper 2/3 of exterior.
Decoration: Two minute S-shaped clay appliques, positioned opposite one another just below the rim.
