Description
This fragment depicts a courtly figure leading a prisoner by a rope, repeated three times on two rows. On the upper row the figures moves towards the right while below they face the left. The courtly figure wears a turban wrapped around a tall baton, short-sleeved coat with its hem tucked into a belt, long-sleeved shirt, tight pants, and high boots (or leggings with slipper-like shoes). The prisoner is half-naked and wears a flat turban and a skirt; his ankles are chained together and around his neck is a looped ribbon or cord to which a rope is tied. The couple is surrounded by clusters of leaves and flowering plants and a tree grows next to the courtly figure, its branches filled with blossoms and buds. -
