Object Details

  • Description

    Placenta jar. Four loop handles; flat basal ring; spur-marks under base. Repair on lip.
    Clay: surface buff where exposed. Porcelaneous, probably near-white.
    Glaze: grayish-green celadon of faint bluish tinge; area of deterioration; crackled.
    Decoration: inlaid in white and black in the paste under glaze: cloud-lappet band around neck; four chrysanthemum sprays on body, keyfret band around base. Edge of cover chipped in two places.
