Incense burner (kuchiyose koro [JPN). Cylindrical, three small feet, flat inturned lip, repairs. Fitted with ivory lid for use as tea caddy (chaire [JPN]).
Clay: medium stoneware fired dark brown.
Glaze: dark mottled gray, bubbles, fine crackle.
Decoration: design of grasses in iron pigment under glaze.
