Sake bottle (tokkuri), gourd-shaped, with pinched body; twisted bulbous neck and short spout. Restoration on spout. Clay: fine, fired reddish-brown. Glaze: lustrous, mottled reddish to blackish brown, iridescent areas, yellow spots. Impressed mark: Character tera in seal script within outline of folding fan.
Tall, inverted pear-shape; flaring at foot. Cf. F1902.272 Clay: hard, light gray. Glaze: luminous aubergine, mottled with copper-brown; overflow of light yellow-green, splashed with brilliant black.
Light gray clay. Incised vertical lines on neck. Iron glaze, shiny and black where thick, translucent brown where thin; opaque white rice-straw ash (unofu) glaze on neck, running down shoulder. Four spur marks (from clay wads) on glazed slightly concave base.
Large sake bottle (tokkuri 徳利). Bottle, ovoidal, with short, tubular neck. Clay: sandy, dark gray-brown. Glaze: thin, metallic dark-brown wash, splashed eccentrically; dappled ash glaze appearing green over body, amber over wash. Heavy overflow of rich, brilliant seal-brown and black, crackled, on neck and shoulder.
