Plaque-shaped serving dish (gaku-zara 額皿), quadrilateral with foliated corners; four low loop feet. Clay: hard, grayish. Glaze: brilliant clear glaze, translucent where thick, over dark, red-brown wash. Decoration: painted in reserve with thin iron wash.
Clay: dense, coarse, gray. Hand formed. Glaze: mirror-black; inside, thin, grayish. Decoration: in white glaze-relief; crackled. Signatures of Ogata Korin (1658-1716) and Ogata Kenzan (1663-1743)
Bowl, small, shallow. Clay: medium stoneware, purplish brown. Glaze: clear. Decoration: in slip under glaze; cranes and small scroll in underglaze blue. Mishima & hakeme techniques.
Incense burner, with perforated oval cover. Chinese lion-dog (shishi). Clay: heavy-weight, dense. Glaze: brilliant black lacquer, powdered and overlaid with gold. Seal: Raku (false seal of Raku Sonyu, 1664-1716)
