Thomas Salmon also included a print of Indian temples and the “bodily torments of Fakirs” in his 1731 Dutch publication translated by M. van Goch. Salmon’s version seems to reference both Tavernier’s and Picart’s prints or an earlier mutual source. For example, his group of fakirs on the left, including one lying down and others with their arms raised (urdhvabahu), is seen in Tavernier’s print, but the central Jain ascetic is only seen in Picart’s.
