(born Hyogo, 1982)

Nishino began working on his series Diorama Map following his graduation from Osaka University of the Arts in 2004. His projects to date reflect a particular attention to recording and visualizing the experience of space. Using a lengthy process of walking, photographing, and collaging, Nishino creates landscape images that represent his memories of moving through locations, rather than indexical records of the places themselves. He has mapped cities throughout Japan, including Tokyo in 2004 and 2014, as well as New York, London, Shanghai, and Rio de Janeiro. Learn more about his work.
