Object Details

  • Description

    Bowl: deep, widely flaring; bold foot; ridged and notched in six-petaled lotus form.
    Clay: dense, white, musical.
    Glaze: rich cream-white, with brownish flow. Rim unglazed.
    Decoration: lotus design incised in paste under glaze.
    The interior ridges and design of lotus blossom and leaf in the bottom are mold-formed. The corresponding notches on the exterior are incised by hand.
