Where to eat

The Freer|Sackler doesn't have an on-site eatery, but there are places to eat close-by and in other Smithsonian museums. The nearest dining option is located in the Smithsonian Castle.

Transportation and parking

Limited on-street parking is available, including reserved spaces for visitors with disabilities. You can book guaranteed parking in advance with ParkWhiz. Taking public transportation is encouraged.

Bus parking on the Mall is discouraged. See recommended bus parking areas.


Barrier-free entrances are located at street level on Independence Avenue. Ask about free wheelchairs, accessible bathrooms, tactile maps, large-print labels, and more at the information desks.  See more about accessibility.

Babies and toddlers

Changing stations are located in all of the restrooms in the Freer and in the Sackler on level B2. Strollers and front-worn baby carriers are permitted in the galleries.

Bag policy

Security personnel may inspect bags, parcels, and similar items. They may require items be stored in a locker.
