Request form: Reserved tours for schools and students

The following details are standard for all on-site school tours:

Standard tour length is 60 minutes and tours are offered at 10:15am, 11:15am, and 12:15pm

Minimum of 10 students and a maximum of 45 students. For groups larger than 45, please email asiatours@si.edu.

One adult chaperone per 10 students is required for school tours. The ideal chaperone assists with group behavior management and gallery transitions. Chaperones model good behavior by staying with their group and off their phones. No more than 2 chaperones per 10 students.

At least 4 weeks’ advance notice is required. After submitting your request, you will receive a request acknowledgment email. If your group is planning to visit in less than 4 weeks, visit the reserved visits for self-guided groups page and complete the request form

Tours are not confirmed until the teacher receives the confirmation emailConfirmation will arrive within 10 business days of completing the request form. We will make every effort to accommodate your request, but all tours are subject to availability. 

We would love to learn more about your group. Please indicate any special needs (e.g. mobility considerations) in the “additional information” section of the request form. Subject to availability, we can accommodate requests for tours in some foreign languages (please specify), specially designed tours for visually impaired visitors, and American Sign Language interpreters.

We welcome any specific curricular connections or other information that would help us learn about your group.  

NOTE: For clarity of communication, please include the contact information of the teacher attending the field trip.
