Tile with design of Eight Views of Lake Biwa in Ōmi (Ōshu Biwako hakkei)

<p>Porcelain tile made at the Tao Zhen workshop in Jingdezhen to Japanese order, painted by a Chinese artist following a sketch commissioned from Kyoto Kano school painter Eigaku (1790-1867). The subject is Eight Views of Omi, the Japanese reinterpretation of the Eight Views of the Xiao and Xiang rivers.</p>
