Asia After Dark
Thank you to all of our guests, sponsors, and staff that came out to experience electrifying nights at the museums.
This summer, the Freer Gallery of Art transformed into a cultural hub exploring Korean and Chinese pop culture. The Asia After Dark season featured a captivating lineup of events, including live paintings of Korean pop icon Psy by Action Drawing HERO, K-pop music and arcade games, Chinese lion-dance performances, an exploration of 3-D printing technology, a live hip-hop score for kung fu films by DJs Hop Fu, and engaging curator-led talks.
Asia After Dark resumes in 2014 with a celebration of Bollywood. This event is in collaboration with the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center's exhibition Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation, opening February 2014 at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History.
